Job Description:
Basic Functions of Position: Perform all duties of the "Press
Brake Operator. Additionally, apply the technical skills and
knowledge of Journeyman status in support of Sales, Estimating,
Engineering and Supervisory staff. Provides technical direction and
assistance to other operators as required. Specific Duties and
Responsibilities : All duties and qualifications of "Press Brake
Operator" plus the following: Provide technical assistance in
determining job costs, equipment capability, and overall
feasibility of prospective projects and customer requirements.
Provide technical support and training to Press Brake Operators as
required, both in theory and practice. Make recommendations on
tooling requirements, equipment service needs, etc. to supervisor.
Working with supervisor, test and evaluate competency level of new
operators. Make recommendations to supervisor on areas requiring
further development and experience. Provide input on suitability of
applicants for hiring, and qualifications / competency level of
learners. Basic machine servicing. Team Leader in supporting
quality, productivity, cost performance, and other areas of
improvement in Press Brake Area. Physical Requirements /
Environment: Ability to lift 50 lbs. Physically load and unload
product from machine. Moderate physical requirements in shop
environment. Education / Experience: In addition to the
requirements for a "Press Brake Operator": A minimum 5 years "Press
Brake Operator" experience. Must be capable in both training and
evaluation of employees. Demonstrated excellence and proficiency in
the theories and practices of metal forming. Other: Leadership,
problem solving, direction, and the evaluation of work quality and
overall capabilities of lower classified Press Brake Operators are
critical and significant traits required in determining the award
of Journeyman status. Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience:
3 - 5 years Salary: $21 - $25 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
